I finished up my quilt for the 100 Quilts for Kids campaign this weekend!
This quilt will be donated locally within my area, to my local Ronald McDonald House charity, who provides a home away from home for families of pediatric patients in area hospitals. This is the second quilt I've made to give away, and I have to say, it feels good (the first was donated via Margaret's Hope Chest earlier this year).
Do you have a quilty bucket list? I sort of do, though it's entirely in my head. There's lots of quilt blocks that I love and want to make, and the classic bow-tie block was on that list. I used a half-yard bundle I've had in my stash pretty much since the dawn of my stash, and I'm really glad I finally used it. In using it, I fell in love with it again, which was a nice surprise. For the binding, I used Kona Regatta
, one of my current favorite blues. 
It's been a while since I finished off a baby quilt - I forgot how quickly they can be quilted and bound! Not to mention how quickly they can be basted :) This is the first quilt in a long time that I basted without my husband's help, which I think he was quite relieved about. Given some of the other things I was working on this weekend, I didn't expect to finish this quilt, so it was a happy surprise.

In other news, I finished another quilt this weekend, but you're going to have to be patient to see more of it! Trust me, it will be worth the wait :)

I love the bow tie too! I plan to make one but the opposite value's to yours. i.e. prints where the white is... weird!

Yea! I'm hoping to get my 100 kids quilt done this week too. I have a whole box of bow tie pieces that I cut out a few years ago that I've never sewn together. Yours looks great!

Very cute quilt! The comments were disabled by the time I read your blogiversary post (can you tell I'm trying to catch up with your life before you leave for Sewing Summit?) So anyway. Have I only known you for a year? It's been great. I'm anxious to see what the next year brings for you.
