So curves and I don't exactly have the best relationship - cutting curves always seems like such a pain to me, not to mention the actual lining up of the concave part of the curve to the convex and all that. In my years of quilting, I've tackled one curve-intensive project, and that was my king-sized Single Girl quilt, which has been a quilt top folded up in my sewing room closet for three years (ack!). I swore off curves after the Single Girl quilt, though I did buy a Quick Curve ruler when I first spotted them a few years ago, thinking it was a different kind of curve and maybe it would be more enjoyable. The ruler then also sat in my closet for a while, but in cleaning up my sewing room recently (trying to find another lost ruler), I came upon my Quick Curve ruler and decided it was time to face my curve fears and just try. And boy am I glad I did, because look at this simple little block I made in just about 30 minutes!!!! It's so cute! I can't wait to get back in front of my sewing machine to make some more of these - just as soon as I get through the next wave of deadlines!!
One of the things I love about the Quick Curve is the amazing amount of resources available to you. There's a page full of video tutorials, showing you exactly how to use the ruler and piece the curves you create using the ruler on the Sew Kind of Wonderful blog right here. It was oh-so helpful to me in playing around with the ruler. If you're a visual learner and just need a bit more guidance than the words in a pattern, these videos will be so helpful to you! When Jenny says that this is an easy curve to sew, she's not kidding, and that's coming from someone who is very averse to sewing curves!
